Cut: Bone-in chicken
2lbs chicken drumsticks
3 Tbsp hoisin sauce (found in the Asian section of grocery stores)
2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1 Tbsp finely grated ginger
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp dried red pepper flakes
1 Tbsp sesame seeds (garnish)
Preheat oven to 400F. In a large bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, garlic powder and dried pepper flakes. Add the chicken and toss to coat evenly. Set aside to marinate, at room temperature for 15 min.
Place chicken on an oven tray lined with foil or a rack and bake for 45 minutes, turning halfway, or until cooked through.
For crispier chicken, broil for 2-3 minutes at the end, taking care not to burn.
Top with sesame seeds and serve with stir fried vegetables.
