Meet the Greniers
Brothers Colin and Kevin Grenier understand the importance of providing chickens with top-quality feed. Many people play crucial roles in supporting farmers and their livestock. As second-generation chicken and grain farmers from central Manitoba, Colin and Kevin know that quality food starts with quality feed. They collaborate with a livestock nutritionist, Amy Johnston, to ensure their feed ration meets the needs of their chickens at every stage of growth.
Producing safe chicken feed relies on precise science
Chicken feed is made up of a carefully balanced recipe of high quality, locally sourced ingredients, like wheat, corn, and soybeans, fortified with vitamins and minerals. There is a lot of cutting-edge science and technology involved in raising chickens to modern standards. In Manitoba, broiler chickens are free to roam the barn and have access to fresh feed and water 24 hours a day. Their nutritious balanced diet ensures optimal growth and is one of the reasons hormones and steroids have not been used, and are in fact banned, on Canadian chicken farms since the 1960’s.
